Big Robbery at Manapuram Gold Loan Company: the looted gold worth around Rs 14 crore
According to company employees, the looted gold is worth around Rs 14 crore.
Udaipur, 29.8: Robbery from Manapuram Gold Loan Company in Rajasthan’s tourist city Udaipur on Monday afternoon. The robbers looted about 23.5 kg gold and cash worth Rs 11.5 lakh. After this incident, there has been a conflict between the local people and the police administration. The police immediately cordoned off the entire district, but no trace of the robbers was found. Udaipur Rangers IG and Police SP along with other senior officials have reached the spot and are investigating the entire case.
According to the police, the robbery happened around 9:30 in the morning. The company office was open at the time. Five armed robbers broke into the office of Manapuram Gold Loan Company. He threatened the staff by showing them deadly weapons. He also beat him. After opening the locker, the robbers took out gold and cash and left in a bag. Before anyone knew it, they were gone.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the robbers had obtained a lot of information about the company. So the company’s GPS box kept in the locker with the gold was left behind, so that the police could not trace him. If the robber had taken the GPS box with the gold, the police could have easily traced him. According to company employees, the looted gold is worth around Rs 14 crore.
