The monsoon will hit most parts of Odisha in the next three days, with heavy rains expected after 20th

Bhubaneswar: Southwest monsoon winds hit some other districts of Odisha on Friday after touching Odisha on Thursday. The northern boundary of the monsoon now reaches Bhawanipatna in Odisha. The monsoon is expected to continue for the next three days

Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha and the rest of Andhra Pradesh are likely to be affected, the Indian Meteorological Department said.

Most parts of inland Odisha and parts of coastal Odisha are likely to receive light to moderate rainfall over the next 24 hours. Heavy rains are expected in Jajpur, Kendujhar, Dhenkanal, Cuttack and Nayagarh districts. For all these districts, the department has issued a yellow alert. Heavy rains and thunderstorms are expected in the next 24 hours in Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Sundergarh, Bargarh, Devgarh, Anugul, Dhenkanal, Kandhamal, Kendujhar, Mayurbhanj, Jajpur, Sonpur, Cuttack, Bhadrak, Baleshwar and Balangir districts of the state.

There is a possibility of showers in the interior and coastal districts of Odisha by the next 24 hours. Most districts in the state are likely to receive showers after the 20th.
