Well-visible low pressure area over North Andaman Sea and Southeast Bay of Bengal

New Delhi: The well-visible low pressure area over North Andaman Sea and adjacent Southeast Bay of Bengal is now over Southeast Bay of Bengal and adjacent East Central Bay of Bengal and North Andaman Sea, the Indian Meteorological Department said today. In addition, the associated cyclone is also 7.6 km above the sea level, the Meteorological Department informed.

It is likely to convert to rain during the next 12 hours as it moves north-westwards. On Monday, it is likely to intensify into heavy rainfall over East Central, adjoining Southeast and West Central Bay of Bengal.

Later, it will gradually turn northwards and intensify into a marine cyclone over West Central and adjoining East Central Bay of Bengal on Tuesday.

After that, the said cyclone will move towards north-north-west and it is likely to touch the coast of Odisha and reach the coast of West Bengal-Bangladesh by Wednesday morning.

As a result, there is a possibility of light to moderate rains with moderate to heavy rains in Odisha from October 23 to 25.
