China: Chinese hackers have stolen millions of dollars from US Covid relief funds since 2020. A Chinese government hacker stole $2 billion (20 million) from America’s Covid relief fund. NBC gave this information in its report on Tuesday. According to this, the hacker who targeted America is working for China’s Xi Jinping government. According to NBC News, a hacking group called APT41 has stolen at least $20 million from the Covid Relief Fund. According to reports, the theft took place in mid-2020 and approximately 2,000 accounts were stolen. During this time, more than 40,000 financial transactions have been made.

Several members of the hacking group were indicted by the US Department of Justice in 2019 and 2020 for spying on more than 100 companies, including software development companies, telecom providers, social media firms and video game developers. China’s embassy in Washington said in a statement that China has always firmly opposed cyber theft and hacking and opposes baseless accusations against the country over cyber security.

This group of hackers is managed from Chengdu, China. Officials said investigations related to fraud during the pandemic revealed the involvement of foreign hackers. According to the report, China’s government hacking poses a major threat to the security of other countries.
