Joe Biden

Joe Biden is the 46th President of the United States, having taken office on January 20, 2021.

Joseph Robinette Biden Jr. was born on November 20, 1942, in Scranton, Pennsylvania.

Education: Attended the University of Delaware, where he double-majored in history and political science. He later earned a law degree from Syracuse University College of Law in 1968.

 Legal Career: After graduating from law school, Biden worked as an attorney before entering politics.  Political Beginnings: In 1970, he was elected to the New Castle County Council

In 1972, at the age of 29, Biden was elected to the U.S. Senate from Delaware, becoming one of the youngest people ever elected to the Senate.

Shortly after his election to the Senate, Biden's first wife, Neilia, and their one-year-old daughter, Naomi, were killed in a car accident. His two sons, Beau and Hunter, were injured but survived. In 1977, he married Jill Tracy Jacobs. They have a daughter, Ashley.

Chosen as Barack Obama's running mate in 2008, Biden was elected Vice President and served two terms from 2009 to 2017.

Sworn in as the 46th President of the United States on January 20, 2021.
