The Tata Trust appointed a new chairman after Ratan’s death
New Delhi: Ratan Tata passed away last Wednesday at the age of 86. After that, there was a lot of speculation about who will be the chairman of Tata Trust. Tata Trust has got a new chairman on Friday October 11. The trust has appointed Ratan Tata‘s step-brother Noel Tata as its new chairman.
Tata Trust held a meeting on Friday. In which it has been decided to select Noel Tata as the successor of Ratan Tata. Noel was previously a trustee of Sir Dorabji Tata Trust and Sir Ratan Tata Trust. The trust not only manages the impressive operations of the Tata Group, but also has a majority stake in Tata Sons, the parent company of the Tata Group. With this appointment, Noel Sir Dorabji becomes the 11th Chairman of Tata Trust and Sir Ratan becomes the sixth Chairman of Tata Trust. He is the son of Naval Tata and Simone Tata and step-brother of Ratan Tata.
There was a consensus among the Persian community to select a man surnamed Tata as his successor. Everyone agreed on the name Noel. Noel’s working style is considered different from Ratan Tata’s. He prefers to work away from the limelight. Noel has been associated with the Tata Group for over 40 years and has been on the boards of many Tata Group companies.
Apart from these, Noel Tata is the Chairman of Tata International Limited, Voltas and Tata Investment Corporation and Vice Chairman of Tata Steel and Titan Company Limited.
