Army dog ’Axel’ saves lives of many Soldiers after being shot by terrorists
Army officials said that 'Axel' was deployed during the building clearance operation.
Srinagar: This coffin you see in the photo does not belong to any Soldiers. Rather, this photo is of a dog who has become a martyr for the country. He risked his life to save the lives of many Soldiers Today, during an encounter with terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir, the brave army dog ‘Axel’ has been killed by terrorists. And today ‘Axel’ is given a final farewell with respect. Axel was also deployed during the encounter with terrorists in Baramulla, Jammu today.
Army officials said that ‘Axel’ was deployed during the building clearance operation. However, as soon as ‘Axel’ entered the building where the terrorists lived, the terrorists opened fire. And he fell down after being shot. In this way ‘Axel’ sacrificed his life and saved the lives of many Soldiers. The post-mortem report revealed that ‘Axel’ had 10 injury marks on his body.
That means ‘Axel’ was shot 10 times. A wreath was laid by the Force Commander today. It is reported that a Lashkar-e-Toiba terrorist was killed in an encounter with security forces in Baramulla, while one AK-47 rifle, two magazines and 30 rounds of ammunition were seized from him.
