Dehradun: Heavy rains and snowfall at Badrinath and Kedarnath temples have become a problem for the administration and pilgrims. After heavy snowfall and rain in Badrinath and Kedarnath Dhams on Monday, the Char Dham Yatra has been canceled as a precautionary measure and passengers have been stranded in Srinagar.

Pauri SSP Shweta Choubey said, due to heavy rain and snowfall in Badrinath and Kedarnath, pilgrims going to Badrinath and Kedarnath have been stopped at Srinagar Garhwal. Travelers have been requested to stay in Srinagar until the weather clears.

Orange Alert has been issued by the Meteorological Department in Uttarakhand. The meteorological department has predicted heavy rain and snowfall in Kedarnath and Badrinath. According to the meteorologist, the weather will be bad from May 1 to 4. Kedarnath Dham has received heavy snowfall on Monday too, so winter has increased here. On the other hand, travelers have been stopped in Srinagar due to the fear of road closure due to snowfall. Passengers are requested not to proceed till the weather improves.
