Bhubaneswar: The state government has given a Nuakhai gift to the farmers. In this gift the farmers will get Kalia Yojana money. 41 lakh farmers will benefit by getting a total of Rs. 869 crore. 2,000 rupees will be directly credited to each farmer’s account. It is worth noting that last year also, the state government gave money.
Earlier, on the occasion of Akshay Tritiya and Farmer’s Day on May 3, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had extended support to the farmers of the state under Kalia Yojana. Apart from Jharsuguda about 800 crore rupees were directly paid into the bank accounts of about 40 lakh “small” and “nammatra” farmers of the state.
At that time through video conferencing the Chief Minister said that a budget of more than 20 thousand crore rupees has been kept for agriculture this year. On this occasion 8 new programs for agricultural development were launched.
