New Delhi: Viral infections are increasing in the country. Colds are on the rise, especially for the H3N2 virus. This is called influenza. However, in case of this fever, the symptoms persist for a long time. In this regard, Dr Randeep Guleria, Former AIIMS-Delhi Director, said that it usually spreads through droplets and mutates. It is spreading like corona.
The director of medical education and chairman of the Institute of Internal Medicine and Respiratory and Sleep Medicine is of the opinion that people should be more careful during this festive season. Especially older people.
Dr Guleria told media agency ANI, “Influenza causes fever, sore throat, cough, body aches and runny nose.” The increase in cases is because the virus is mutating and people’s immunity against it has become reduced.
There was an epidemic many years ago due to H1N1. A variant of that virus is H3N2. This is a common strain of influenza. But we are seeing more cases because the virus has mutated a bit and our immunity has weakened,” Guleria told ANI.
