DA of central government employees increased by 4%
New Delhi: Good news for central government employees. The Union Cabinet on Friday approved the proposal to increase the dearness allowance by 4 percent. It will be available to central government employees and pensioners in the form of additional instalments. The government has given this facility to government employees to cope with the increase in prices. It will be provided from January 2023 onwards. In addition, DA of central employees has increased from 38 percent to 42 percent.
Giving information in this regard, Union Minister Anurag Thakur said that the dearness allowance (DA) of central government employees has been increased by 4 percent. Dearness Allowance has been increased from 38% to 42%. He said that it will be implemented gradually from January 2023.
To cope with rising prices, the government has given DA concessions to its employees and inflation concessions to pensioners. It is calculated on the basis of Consumer Price Index (CPI-IW) for industrial workers.
