Defamation Case :Congress party leader Rahul Gandhi has been granted bail till April 13

New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s bail has been increased. The court has granted bail till April 13 following Rahul’s appeal in a session court in Surat. The next hearing of this case will be on April 13. On Monday, Rahul Gandhi filed an appeal in the Sessions Court in Gujarat’s Surat challenging the district court’s judgment in the ‘Modi Sangiya’ criminal defamation case. Eleven days after the sentence was announced in the case, he filed a petition against it in the Sessions Court. After filing the petition, the sessions court granted him bail till April 13.

Rahul Gandhi’s legal team filed two applications in Surat. First of all, there is an appeal to the court for his conviction decrease in this case. Later, an application was made to suspend the sentence. If the court stays the sentence, it will pave the way for Rahul to continue as Lok Sabha MP. The Court has directed BJP MLA Purnesh Modi, who filed the criminal defamation case, to respond to Rahul’s petition by April 10. The hearing will be held on April 13 and there is no need for Rahul Gandhi to appear in the court personally, the Sessions Court said.

However, the BJP criticized Rahul for filing a petition in the Sessions Court challenging the verdict of the district court. Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju tweeted that Rahul Gandhi will probably go to Surat to file the appeal. It is not necessary for a convict to go in personally to file a petition. Normally, no convict goes in personally. Going personally with party leaders and allies is nothing but drama.

What Rahul Gandhi is doing is a ridiculous attempt to put pressure on the court. In another tweet, Rijiju said that all the courts of the country are safe from such tactics.
