‘Defence Services Staff’ exam : 6 women passed for the 1st time

'Defence Services Technical Staff Course' exams

New Delhi: For the first time, six women have cleared the prestigious ‘Defence Services Staff Course’ and ‘Defence Services Technical Staff Course’ (DSTSC) exams, government officials said.

The above exam was held in the month of September this year.

Four of the six passers will join their male counterparts in the three forces for a one-year course at the Defense Services Staff College in Wellington, Tamil Nadu.

There, they will be trained in combat, military intelligence, combat transport and administrative aspects of personnel recruitment, Army officials said.

Of the remaining two women officers, one is in the ‘DSTSC‘ reserve list and the other has been shortlisted for the ‘Administration and Logistics Management Course’ and the ‘Intelligence Staff Course’.

More than 1500 army officers have appeared for the ‘Defence Services Staff Course’ and ‘Defence Services Technical Staff Course’. For the first time this year, 22 women officers from ‘Army Services Corps’, ‘Army Air Defence’, ‘Army Ordnance Corps’, ‘Corps of Signals’, ‘Corps of Intelligence’, ‘Corps of Engineers’ and ‘Corps of EME’ Tested.
