Delhi Liquor Policy: Again ED raids in 40 places in multiple cities
This is the second step in this case. Last week, the ED visited around 45 locations in Delhi, Telangana, Maharashtra, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Karnataka.
New Delhi: The ED today continued raids at 40 locations in multiple cities for alleged involvement in the Delhi Liquor Policy scam. 20 of them are in Hyderabad, the capital of TRS-ruled Telangana.
According to government sources, Nellore, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and some other cities in the National Capital Territory of Delhi were searched at the homes of liquor traders, distributors and people associated with the supply chain network.
This is the second step in this case. Last week, the ED visited around 45 locations in Delhi, Telangana, Maharashtra, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Karnataka.
It is worth noting that an FIR was filed in the CBI after the names of Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and some officials were accused of financial corruption in the Liquor policy. Later the said case was handed over to the ‘ED’. But, now the said Liquor policy has been withdrawn.
In the Arvind Kejriwal-led Delhi government, Sisodia is in charge of several departments, including Liquor and education. The Directorate of Enforcement is investigating whether there was any corruption during the preparation and implementation of the Delhi Liquor Policy, which was implemented in November last year.
