New Delhi: The Union Government on Tuesday introduced the Delhi Service Bill in the Lok Sabha regarding the transfer and recruitment of officers. Union Minister Nityananda Roy introduced the bill in the House on behalf of Home Minister Amit Shah. As soon as the bill was introduced, the house was adjourned till 3 o’clock due to commotion in the house. The bill was strongly opposed by the opposition. However, it has announced that BJD will support the bill.
Regarding the bill, Amit Shah said that this protest is not constitutional but political. It is on this basis that this Bill be allowed to be introduced. Amit Shah further said that this House has the right to enact laws. Secondly, the Supreme Court order says that if the central government feels like it, they can enact laws.
Opposition leader Adhir Ranjan Choudhury opposed this and said that the central government is weakening the constitution. Adhir Ranjan said that this is an attempt to reduce the authority of the Delhi government. He said that Delhi Service Bill is against the decision of the Supreme Court.
