India has topped the world in digital payment ranking; 89.5 million digital transactions

New Delhi: India has topped the world in digital payment ranking in 2022. This was reported from the government’s MyGovIndia platform.
In 2022, there were 89.5 million digital transactions in the country. In addition, India’s contribution to real-time payments in the world in 2022 is more than 46 percent. India is followed by Brazil (29.2 million), China (17.6 million), Thailand (16.5 million) and South Korea (8 million) in second to fifth place respectively. India has more digital transactions than any of the 4 countries below India.

MyGovIndia has tweeted about the said success. India dominates the digital payments space. India has taken a leading role in the cashless economy through innovative solutions and widespread adoption, it said. Notably, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had earlier said that digital transactions have revolutionized the country’s rural economy. India is number one in digital payment ranking. Mobile data prices are lowest in India. He said that the country’s rural economy is currently undergoing transformation.
