EVM hacking impossible: Election official

EVM hacking (Mumbai) : A police case has been filed against Shiv Sena MP Ravindra Waikar’s brother-in-law Mangesh Pandilkar and election officer Dinesh Gurav for allegedly hacking EVMs using government mobile phones. The election commissioner has clarified that it is impossible for such an EVM to be hacked, when the politics of Maharashtra have started to clash over this incident.

According to the allegations, Mangesh has been accused of tampering with the EVM data using the mobile phone of Dinesh Gurav, who was working as an encore operator during the election.

Not only this, there are restrictions on taking any phone inside the polling centre. It is said that Mangesh got the answer by talking to the election officer on the phone at that time. The Election Commission has also clarified the matter and said that OTP has nothing to do with EVMs and all the allegations in this regard are baseless.

Today, the Election Officer of Maharashtra, Vandana Suryavanshi , gave a clarification on this allegation. He said that the talk of EVM hacking in Mumbai North West Lok Sabha seat is a lie. He said that this is a conspiracy by some politicians. He said that from technical and technical point of view, EVM is a special machine and it cannot be controlled by OTP.
