Golden age in sports in India: PM Modi

The triangle has protected not only Indians but also the citizens of other countries in the field of war.

New Delhi: India is in a golden age in the field of sports, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said today while hosting the Indian athletes who participated in the state group sports competition at his residence.

The Prime Minister also said that this achievement has been achieved in the field of sports while the country is celebrating its 75th Independence Day. Similarly, while the government is launching the ‘Har Ghar Triranga’ campaign today, the Prime Minister also spoke about the power of the tricolor.

In Ukraine, we have seen the power of the triangle, the Prime Minister said at a special event organized to celebrate the achievements of the recently concluded state group sports. The triangle has protected not only Indians but also the citizens of other countries in the field of war.

Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur and Union State Sports Minister Nitish Parmanik were also present at the program organized by the Prime Minister to felicitate the Indian athletes who returned after winning a total of 61 medals in the Commonwealth Games held in Birmingham, England.

Among the medals won by Indian athletes are 22 gold, 16 silver and 23 bronze. Around 200 Indian players participated in 16 different sports organized in the 2022 State Sports.
