Gujarat Congress suspends 38 of its activists and workers for ‘anti-party activities
New Delhi: The Gujarat Congress has suspended 38 of its activists and workers from the party for six years for indulging in anti-party activities during the Gujarat assembly elections held last month. Notably, Congress, the country’s oldest party, has won only 17 seats in the 182-member Gujarat assembly.
Disciplinary committee meeting of Congress met twice this month and so far 71 complaints against 95 people have been received.
“We have suspended 38 activists and workers from the party for anti-party activities. Action will be taken against others also. Apart from this, eight party workers have been warned,” Mr. Patel said.
He informed that Surendranagar district president Rayavai Rathod, Narmada district president Harendra Valand and former Nandod MLA PD Vasava are among the 38 people suspended from the party for anti-party activities.
