London: After seizing Uranium-enriched products from London‘s Heathrow airport, the British counter-terrorism police have launched an investigation into the incident.
The Metropolitan Police Force said on Wednesday that a package arriving in England Heathrow airport on December 29 was found to contain a small amount of adulterated material. The ‘Counter Terrorism Command’ of the police is investigating the incident.
But, according to the ‘BBC’ report, the said packet containing the metal pieces contained ‘Uranium’ (the material required for nuclear bombs). The newspaper ‘The Sun’, which first reported this news, said that the packet containing the material was first prepared in Pakistan. Later it arrived in England on a flight from Oman.
Police Commander Richard Smith said, “Experts have said that there is no danger to the public as the amount of mixed material is very small. However, the investigation is ongoing. We will definitely know what source it is for and take extra precautions. No one has been arrested in this incident.
