New Delhi: The trophy of FIH Odisha Men’s Hockey World Cup 2023 Bhubaneswar-Rourkela has reached New Delhi today. Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Mr. Anurag Thakur unveiled the World Cup trophy in front of hockey fans at the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium. On this occasion, members of the 1975 World Cup winning hockey team, Ajit Pal Singh, Ashok Dhyan Chand, Padmashri Zafar Iqbal, Binit Kumar were prominently present.
On this occasion, Union Minister Anurag Thakur said that by taking the World Cup Hockey trophy to different cities of India, the publicity of the FIH Odisha Men’s Hockey World Cup 2023 Bhubaneswar-Raulkela can be spread. The World Cup trophy has now reached Delhi after traveling around Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Punjab and other cities. World Cup of Hockey in the presence of legendary hockey players and fans is another major sporting event, taking a major step towards promoting the FIH Odisha Hockey World Cup.
Ashok Dhyan Chand former hockey player praised Hockey India for the Trophy tour. Dhyan Chand said that this is an important step towards the promotion of the upcoming World Cup. However, the FIH Odisha Men’s Hockey World Cup 2023 Bhubaneswar-Rourkela will start from January 13, 2023 and the final match will be played on January 29, 2023.
