Washington: If Russia uses any nuclear weapons in the war in Ukraine, the United States will do decisive confrontation and Moscow will suffer dire consequences, US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan said on Sunday.
Sullivan made the above comments in response to an indirect warning to the United States last Wednesday when Russian President Vladimir Putin announced ‘mobilization’ for the first time since World War II. Putin said that he also has many deadly weapons.
Without commenting on the type of US response, Sullivan said, “The meaning of this has been explained to Moscow personally.
He added, “The United States has been talking directly with Russia for the past few days to discuss the situation in Ukraine and the actions and threats of Russian President Putin.”
In his address to the UN Security Council on Wednesday, US President Joe Biden also accused Vladimir Putin of threatening Europe with nuclear war.
