Now if Lok Sabha elections are held, Modi will win by a huge margin: ‘India TV’ poll

According to the survey, the NDA can win 362 seats out of the total 543 seats in the Lok Sabha

New Delhi: If the Lok Sabha elections are held now, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) led by Prime Minister Modi will win with a huge margin, according to a nationwide opinion poll conducted by India TV-Matrize News Communication.

According to the survey, the NDA can win 362 seats out of the total 543 seats in the Lok Sabha.

The results of the survey, titled ‘Desh Ki Awaaz’ or ‘Opinion of the Country’, were aired on ‘India TV’ at 4 pm on Friday.

According to survey reports, if general elections are held now, the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) will get only 97 seats and ‘other’ parties, including small, regional parties and independent candidates, will get 84 seats.

According to the survey, ‘NDA’ could get 41%, ‘UPA’ 28% and ‘Other’ 31%.

In Uttar Pradesh, the most populous state with 80 Lok Sabha seats, ‘NDA’ is likely to win 76 seats, while other parties, including ‘UPA’, may win only 2 seats. Out of total 40 seats in Bihar, ‘NDA’ can win 35 seats and ‘UPA’ 5 seats.

Similarly, out of 48 Lok Sabha seats in Maharashtra, ‘NDA’ is likely to win 37 and ‘Non-BJP’ party in remaining 11 seats.

Out of the 39 Lok Sabha seats in Tamil Nadu, the ruling ‘DMK’-led ‘UPA’ can win 38 seats and the ‘NDA’ 1 seat. The ‘non-BJP’ opposition could win all 20 seats in LDF-ruled Kerala.

Besides, out of total 42 seats in West Bengal ruled by Trinamool Congress, Trinamool Congress can win 26 seats, NDA 14 seats and UPA 2 seats. Out of total 21 Lok Sabha seats in Odisha, ‘NDA’ can win 11, ‘UPA’ 2 and ‘BJD’ 8 seats.

As the first choice for the Prime Minister seat, Narendra Modi got 48%, Rahul Gandhi 11%, Mamata Banerjee 8%, Sonia Gandhi 7%, Mayawati 6%, Arvind Kejriwal 5%, Nitish Kumar 4%, K. 3% for Chandrashekhar Rao and 2% for Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, according to public opinion.

When asked who is Modi’s closest political rival, 23% of the population said Rahul Gandhi and 19% said Arvind Kejriwal. Modi’s other tough political rivals include Mamata Banerjee (11%), Nitish Kumar (8%) and Sonia Gandhi (8%).
