New Delhi: Indian diplomat Mijito Vinito today criticized Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for raising the issue of Kashmir and making anti-India comments while addressing the 77th UN General Council meeting.

Mijito Vinito, First Secretary of the Indian Mission to the United Nations, said, “Unfortunately, the Prime Minister of Pakistan has chosen the platform of the Council to make false accusations against India.” He is doing this to tarnish his country’s reputation and justify actions against India that the world considers unacceptable.

Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif mentioned ‘Kashmir’ 10 times and ‘India’ more than 9 times during his speech yesterday. Before all the Prime Ministers of Pakistan have also raised the issue of Kashmir in this forum.

Citing the example of terrorist Dawood Ibrahim, Vinito said that a country that claims to maintain peace with its neighbors would never have given shelter to the 1993 Mumbai bomb blast plotters.

He emphatically said that India wants to maintain normal neighborly relations with Pakistan in a situation free from terrorism, conflict and violence. Jammu and Kashmir was, is and will remain an integral part of India.

Mentioning the abduction of minors and forced marriages of Hindu, Sikh and Christian families in Pakistan, he said, the country that violates the rights of minorities is raising the issue of minorities in the global arena.
