Lucknow: On the occasion of the 93rd birth anniversary of famous singer Lata Mangeshkar, a 14 ton harp weighing 40 feet long and 12 meters high has been installed at a major intersection under Sarayu river flowing through the city of Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh.

The Lata Mangeskar Chaura will be inaugurated today by Prime Minister Modi virtually. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Union Tourism Minister G. Kishan Reddy will be present. Spiritual and political leaders have also been invited to the ceremony.

In a tweet, the Prime Minister said, “Remembering Latadi on her birthday. I remember talking to her many times. I am happy to know that one Street in Ayodhya is named on her name. This is a small tribute to one of the most famous Indian personalities.

On this occasion, a cultural program and an exhibition based on the life of Lata Mangeskar has also been organized at Ram Katha Garden in Ayodhya city.

Earlier, Uttar Pradesh government officials had said that the square will become a place of attraction for tourists and music lovers. This is the first time in the country that such a huge musical instrument has been installed in such an architectural setting. They informed that about 7.9 crore rupees have been spent for the development of that place. Padmashri Ram Sutar built this harp-architecture in two months.
