Rawalpindi: The local media reported that a Pakistani journalist was arrested for making disrespectful statements about Islam by the former Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan.
According to the report made by the newspaper ‘Dawn’ on Sunday, the Rawalpindi Police has registered a case against journalist Waqar Satti at RA Bazar police station on Saturday. The said case has been filed on the basis of the complaint of a cable operator named Chaudhry Nasir Qayyum.
According to the filed ‘FIR’, the complainant told the police that on August 24th, when he was in his office, he came across a tweet. A man by the name of Waqar Satti explains why he hates Imran Khan and why he rebelled against him.
However, it is mentioned in the ‘FIR’ filed by the complainant that Imran Khan did not say anything like what was mentioned in Waqar Satti’s tweet in any of his speeches.
He further wrote, “Satti’s actions have hurt the religious sentiments of him and countless Muslims.”
