Low pressure area active: Heavy rain in Cuttack and Bhubaneswar

According to the information of the Meteorological Department, the cyclonic storm has moved to a height of 5.8 km above the sea level and is moving towards the southwest.

Bhubaneswar: A low pressure area has become active over the West-Central and adjoining North-West Bay of Bengal under the influence of a cyclone. As a result of this, rain has continued in coastal and coastal districts since morning. Heavy rains are also observed in the Cuttack and Bhubaneswar.

According to the information of the Meteorological Department, the cyclonic storm has moved to a height of 5.8 km above the sea level and is moving towards the southwest. Due to this, heavy to very heavy rain will occur in most parts of the state today. The Regional Meteorological Center has said that there will be heavy rain especially in Malkangari, Koraput, Ganjam, Gajapati and other districts of 70 to 200 mm and Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Khordha, Puri, Nayagarh, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Baleshwar and Bhadrak districts.

The Meteorological Center said, the depression will slowly move towards west-northwest and reach the coast of Andhra Pradesh. As a result, the intensity of rain will decrease to some extent in the state on 5th day. But there is a possibility of heavy rain in Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Jagapati, Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Balangir, Mayurbhanj and Baleshwar districts.

Weather expert Surendranath Pasupalak said, due to the impact of the cyclone that formed on Monday, there will be moderate rain in the entire coastal district on the 4th and 5th. On the 7th, the second cyclone of this month is likely to develop in the South Bay of Bengal and become a low pressure in 24 hours.
