Microsoft server down affects 8.5 million devices

New Delhi: Less than two days ago, online services around the world were affected due to Microsoft server down. About 8.5 million Microsoft devices were affected by a global server downage linked to a software update by cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike, Microsoft said in a blog post on Saturday.

We currently estimate that the CrowdStrike update has affected 8.5 million Windows devices, or less than 1 percent of all Windows machines, Microsoft said in a blog post.

Air travelers worldwide faced delays, flight cancellations and headaches. It also affected many industries, from banks to media companies.

Today, the disruption in Microsoft services worldwide has also affected India. Microsoft Windows did not work due to a software update by cybersecurity services company CrowdStrike. From airline services to banks and news broadcasting, stock market services etc. have been severely affected.
