Bhubaneswar: Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (bmc) remembered ‘mo cycle’ after two years. BMC will repair more than 2,000 bicycles that are lying unused and make them useful again. After repair, these bicycles will not be distributed to anyone but the priority will be on how these bicycles can be usefully reused.
Due to covid, this expensive bi-cycle, which cost more than 25 thousand, was lying unused for the last two years. BMC Commissioner Vijay Amruta Kulange explained about this. According to BMC Commissioner, this Mo Cycle scheme was started by BMC towards the end of 2018. The slogan “Ride Cycle, Be Healthy” was very popular at that time. The residents of Bhubaneswar also appreciated this new initiative. But the situation changed in the month of March 2020. It remained unused for almost two years due to covid. Now that the situation has normalized, its reuse is emphasized.
He explained that the common people of Bhubaneswar will have the facility to use Mo Cycle. Under no circumstances will BMC share it with the public. He clearly said, “BMC will make Mo Cycle in Bhubaneswar useful to common people, students and young women.” An SOP is being prepared for this. As per SOP, bicycles will be provided to the needy people.
Earlier, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation had planned to repair and distribute the bikes that had fallen down. The BMC commissioner also gave this response during the construction of the new BMC office. But later the decision changed.
