Currently petrol and diesel cannot be obtained in Delhi without pollution certificate. In fact, the Delhi government has made this new announcement to prevent air pollution.
Under this, if your vehicle does not have a pollution inspection certificate, you will not get petrol or diesel in the fuel tank. This decision of the Delhi government will be effective from October 25. Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai said that the GRAP will be strictly implemented to prevent pollution. In addition to this, the Delhi government will also start a campaign against dust pollution from October 6 to prevent pollution. He said that no decision has been taken to implement the (Jugma & Ajugma) plan.
For now we will focus on GRAP. Now GRAP will be applicable on AQI basis. If the atmospheric AQI remains between 300-400, the diesel generator set has to be shut down. Along with this, the parking fee will also have to be increased. Apart from this, if the AQI is between 400-500, then there will be a ban on vehicles coming from outside and heavy traffic in Delhi will be stopped.
