‘Portable Ventilator’ made by ‘Bhubaneswar-IIT’ will save lives of newborns: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said today in the 94th edition of 'Mann ki Baat' that it can be used to save lives of premature newborns in remote areas

New Delhi: This month, 23 IITs came to showcase their research projects. The IIT-Bhubaneswar team has developed a portable ventilator for newborns. This ventilator can run on battery power. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said today in the 94th edition of ‘Mann ki Baat’ that it can be used to save lives of premature newborns in remote areas.

The Prime Minister said, I gave a call for ‘Victory Research’ from the Red Fort. I also talked about making this decade the ‘Techaday of India’. Our IIT students have also dominated it.

Explaining the success of the space mission, the Prime Minister said, I remember those old days. India was denied ‘cryogenic rocket technology’. However, Indian scientists have not only developed indigenous technology, but today are launching several artificial satellites into space simultaneously.

A radical change has started in this field since the opening of space to the youth. In this field, ‘start-ups’ are creating new innovations and technologies.

Saying that students are making India stronger, the Prime Minister said that students are the basis of making India stronger. It is the youth of today who will take India to new heights in the years to come.
