KYIV: About 9,000 Ukrainian soldiers have already died in the Russia-Ukraine war that started last February, the Ukrainian military chief said on Monday. For the first time, the head of the Ukrainian army, General Valeriy Zaluzhnyi, has provided such information. In a conference organized to honour senior army officers and the families of soldiers or martyrs who died in the war, Army chief Zaluzhnyi emphasized on protecting the children of heroes who fought for the country.
