Balasore 8/9: India has again shown its strength in the defense department. QRSAM has completed 6 flight tester tests in one day. The Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) and the Indian Army successfully conducted six flight-tests of the Quick Reaction Surface-to-Air Missile System on Thursday from Odisha’s Coastal Integrated Test Range (ITR) Chandipur.

Flight-tests were conducted against high-speed aerial targets simulating a variety of threats in various scenarios, including long-range, medium-altitude, short-range, high-altitude maneuvering targets with reduced radar signature. Crossing target and salvo launch with two missiles fired in rapid succession. System performance was also evaluated under day and night operation conditions.

During this test, all mission objectives were met by establishing the pin-point accuracy of the weapon system with sophisticated guidance and control algorithms along with the warhead chain. The performance of the system is confirmed from data captured by several range instruments such as telemetry, radar and electro-optical tracking systems employed by the ITR. The launch was attended by senior officers of the DRDO and the Indian Army.
