This time the sugarcane crop has not been good, so there will not be enough sugar to send it in the next season. The Indian government has allowed the export of 6.1 million tons of sugar till September 30, while 11.1 million tons of sugar have been sent to other countries in the last season.

It is said that the states of western Maharashtra and southern Karnataka, where sugarcane is produced the most, have received less rainfall. This can lead to sugar deficiency.

A government source said that for some years we were exporting sugar in large quantities, but this time it is not possible. The needs of the local market also have to be met.

Recently, the government also imposed a ban on onion exports. Farmers are protesting against this decision. Farmers said that due to this decision, onion prices have decreased. Earlier, the government had banned the export of non-Basmati white rice.
