Sunita Williams video conference from space

Washington: Indian-origin astronaut Sunita Williams, who is stuck in the International Space Station (ISS), says that it is her happy place and she loves being there. Ms. Williams and her fellow NASA aide, Butch Wilmore, boarded Boeing’s Starliner on June 5. However, after the Starliner, which faced several technical problems, returned to Earth last week without a crew, their stay was extended to eight months.

“We wanted to make the Starliner fully operational and return home, but now we have to wait for the next opportunity,” said Sunita Williams, who was stranded in space, in a video press conference. Williams and Wilmore are scheduled to return aboard Elon Musk’s SpaceX’s Crew-9 capsule in February. Two astronauts said that they want to vote in the 2024 US presidential election from the International Space Station. Butch Wilmore said he sent his request for a vote today. Sunita Williams also said that this is an important duty.
