The Lok Sabha adjourned until 2 pm after the start of the monsoon session
New Delhi: After the start of the Lok Sabha’s monsoon session at 11 a.m. today, Speaker OM Birla adjourned the House until 2 p.m. due to Tribute to the late Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe.
The newly-elected members of both houses were sworn in after the start of the monsoon session in Parliament.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged MPs to take part in important talks and debates before the start of the monsoon session of Parliament today to make the session as fruitful as possible.
Arriving at the Parliament House, Prime Minister Narendra Modi told reporters that “Parliament is working hard and everyone is making the best possible decision and urging all MPs to take full advantage of this session.”
The Prime Minister also said that there should be debate and discussion in Parliament without hesitation.
Later, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a meeting with his top ministers in Parliament.
Voting for the country’s presidential election is underway on the first day of the monsoon session of parliament today.
Ahead of the monsoon session of Parliament, Speaker Om Birla tweeted this morning: “The monsoon session of Parliament will begin at 11 am. The countrymen are looking forward to a meaningful discussion on issues of public interest. Honorary members will have a positive outlook on issues that are in the interest of the country. Hopefully, all parties will join in, honoring the dignity and decency of the House.
