New Delhi: Prime Minister Modi said that ‘INS Vikrant’, a symbol of indigenous potential, has created new confidence in India.
Speaking on the occasion of inducting India’s first aircraft carrier INS Vikrant into the Indian Navy at Cochin Shipyard Limited today, the PM Modi said the above and added, “This is the India’s efforts and talent in the 21st century.
Earlier, Prime Minister Modi also inaugurated the new Ensign of the Indian Navy. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Governor Arif Mohammad Khan, Chief Minister Pinari Vijayan and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
At the inauguration, Prime Minister Modi said, India has today joined the ranks of countries that are building large aircraft carriers using indigenous technology.
He further said that ‘INS Vikrant’ is truly a symbol of indigenous potential. Because each of its devices has its own characteristics, capabilities and its own development journey. It is the symbol of indigenous potential, indigenous resources and indigenous skills. The iron on its jetty is also indigenous.
Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was accorded a ‘Guard of Honour’ upon his arrival at Cochin Seapad Limited.
