Kolkata: The Trinamool Congress (TMC) will celebrate ‘Khela Hobe Day‘ on Tuesday. On this occasion, the party leaders will organize football matches in West Bengal to promote the sport in the state.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said that on this occasion, she is looking forward to more participation in the program by the youth.

Notably, ‘Khela Hobe’ was the tagline of the TMC election campaign during the high-action assembly election campaign last year. When the party defeated the BJP to return to power for the third time in a row.

TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee had announced last year that August 16 would be observed as ‘Khela Hobe Day’ in the state.

Chief Minister Mamata said, ‘I am grateful from the bottom of my heart for Khela Hobe Divas. After the demonstrable success of the program last year, we look forward to more participation by the youth today. Sustaining the enthusiasm of our young citizens today.

A football match will be organized to promote the sport in honor of the 16 people who died in 1980 due to stroke during a football match at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Senior TMC leader Tapas Roy said, all party leaders have been instructed to organize programs in every block of the state.
