Statue of ‘Twitter Bird’ auctioned for $100,000: Report

New Delhi: On Tuesday morning, the statue of the famous ‘Twitter Bird’ logo of ‘Twitter’ was sold for $100,000, BBC reported.

However, the identity of the buyer of this ‘bird’ statue is not known. Twitter has called an auction to get rid of some leftover office supplies from its San Francisco office. From souvenirs to electronics, furniture and kitchen supplies, over 600 items were auctioned.

According to ‘Heritage Global Partners’, which managed the auction, the ‘Twitter bird’, about 4 feet high, was auctioned for $100,000. However, the company refused to say how much it was auctioned for and who the buyer was.

The second most expensive item sold at auction was a 10-foot neon ‘Twitter Bird’ display. It was sold for $40,000.

Other major items auctioned off included three kegerators for storing beer, a food dehydrator and a pair of pizza ovens. Forbes magazine reported that each of the above items was sold for $10,000.

Similarly, a pair of 6-foot ‘planters’ in the shape of @ code is about $15,500 and a set of wooden conference room tables is $10,500..

In addition, thousands of ‘protective facemasks’ and several ‘soundproof phone booths’ have been sold for over $4,000, according to media reports.
