Industrialist Ratan Tata received the first Udyog Ratna award, presented by the Chief Minister of Maharashtra at his residence

MUMBAI: The Maharashtra Government has announced the Udyog Ratna award which was launched this year. It has been awarded to Ratan Tata, the country’s industrialist of the year. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar today visited Ratan Tata’s residence in Mumbai and conferred the award on him.

On this occasion, Chief Minister Shinde said that industrialist Ratan Tata and Tata Group have contributed a lot to the country. I am delighted that he has agreed to receive this award from the Government of Maharashtra. The Udyog Ratna award ceremony will be held on Sunday. Since Ratan Tata could not go there due to his poor health, it was provided at his residence.

Last April, Indian industrialist Ratan Tata was awarded Australia’s highest civilian honor, the Order of Australia. Ratan Tata has been appointed an Honorary Officer of the General Division of the Order of Australia for his contributions to Australia-India bilateral relations, particularly in the areas of trade, investment and social service.
