Commission has become a culture in the state : Former Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat

New Delhi: Nothing is done in Uttarakhand without paying the commission, said the former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand and currently MP Tirath Singh Rawat.

In a video that appears to be true, Rawat has complained about ‘commission theft’ going on in the state. He said, commission has become a culture in the state. No action can be taken without paying the prescribed commission.

Commission

He said, I was the Chief Minister. Perhaps this should not be said. But I do not hesitate to admit it. When we seceded from Uttar Pradesh, we had to pay up to 20% commission for doing government work.

After the partition of the state, the commission system is supposed to stop. But, he said that it was not done and only 20%.

He said, this is a different mentality. Seeing the state as one’s own family will remove such mentality.

It is worth noting that in 2000, the state of Uttarakhand was created after being separated from Uttar Pradesh.

In March last year, when he was the chief minister, Tirath Singh Rawat created a controversy by commenting on women wearing ‘ripped jeans’. He said he was shocked to see a mother in ripped jeans and boots on a plane with children.

Countless women, actors and politicians criticized him for such comments.
