New Delhi: Vice-President and Rajya Sabha Speaker Venkaiah Naidu’s eyes twinkled today as MPs of the House bid farewell.
Addressing the Rajya Sabha on this occasion, Prime Minister Modi said that this is an emotional moment for the House. He said, “You (Naidu) always say that you have retired from politics but not from public life… Your term in the Rajya Sabha may be over but your experience will guide the country in the years to come.
Prime Minister Modi further said that during his tenure as Rajya Sabha Speaker, Vice President V.P. Naidu contributed to the progress of the house. The performance of the Rajya Sabha increased during his tenure. He is very intelligent. His command of language is commendable.
