Sriharikota: India’s first domestic rocket ‘Vikram-S’ successfully launched from Sriharikota spaceport, 115 km from Chennai, ISRO said today.

The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) announced on Twitter that the ‘mission launch’ has been successfully completed.

Union Minister Jitendra Singh, who was present in Sriharikota to witness this memorable launch, said, “The launch of this rocket is a moment of decisive change for Indian startups.”

Hyderabad-based startup Skyroot Aerospace, in collaboration with the Indian Space Research Organization and the Indian National Space Promotion and Authorization Centre, developed the Prarambh Mission and the Vikram-S rocket.

The rocket carried three payloads made by Andhra Pradesh’s N Space Tech India, Chennai-based startup Space Kids and Armenian BazoomQ Space Research Lab..

Skyroot Aerospace’s founder Pawan Kumar Chandana said, “Today we created history by launching India’s first domestic rocket.” It is the symbol of new India, the beginning of a bright future.

“Skyroot” said that after the launch of ‘Vikram-S’, which was built in two years in a record time, it rose to a height of 89.5 km at a high speed and fulfilled all the rules.
