The VIP security framework will change, the NSG will remove the security of the leaders

New Delhi: The central government is now planning to make major changes in VIP security. As soon as the new ministers took charge, the security of more than a dozen high-risk individuals handled by the NSG and ITBP have been handed over to the CRPF and other paramilitary forces.

According to media sources, the Home Ministry will soon review the case and the immunity granted to several political figures, former ministers, retired bureaucrats and others may be withdrawn or reduced. Meanwhile, the Home Ministry can completely remove the ‘black cat’ commanders of the NSG from VIP security duties.

According to information received, the Home Ministry may remove the security provided by the ITBP jawans and hand over the security responsibility to the VIP security branch of the CRPF and CISF, known as the Special Protection Group (SSG).

Plans have been underway since 2012 to relieve the NSG of VIP security duties. But now it is not possible. In fact, the NSG had estimated that if a terrorist attack could happen in many places in the country at the same time, then commandos could be sent in many directions at the same time. Around 450 ‘Black Cat’ commandos are expected to return to the barracks after the NSG is relieved of VIP security duties.
