Bhubaneswar: A low pressure area is active over west-central Bay of Bengal today. During the next 36 hours, further condensation is likely to develop into a visible low pressure area over the west-central adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal and north Andhra Pradesh and south Odisha. This has been informed by the Regional Meteorological Department.
It is worth noting that on Thursday, a low pressure system has formed over the west-central and adjoining east-central Bay of Bengal region. It will intensify over north Andhra Pradesh and south Odisha coast over west-central and adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal. Due to this, heavy rain will start in the state from today.
The Meteorological Department has said that the impact of low pressure will be maximum on 10th and 11th. Meteorological department has issued orange warning for heavy to very heavy rain in 11 districts on 10th and 10 districts on 11th. The warning has been sounded for Gajapati, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Khurda Nayagarh and Puri districts.
