Taipei: While hosting US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi today, Taiwan President Tsai Ing-wen said, “We will not surrender,” referring to China.

Despite repeated warnings from China, China has been angered by Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan.

As soon as Pelosi arrived in Taiwan on Tuesday, China told the US ambassador in Beijing that the consequences would be dire.

Taiwan will not surrender even knowing that it is facing a huge military risk. “We will travel the path of defense for democracy,” Tsai said in the presence of Pelosi at the event held in Taipei.

He also thanked Pelosi for taking concrete steps to show strong support for Taiwan in a time of crisis.

It is worth noting that China is trying to isolate Taiwan in the world trade and opposes the countries that have conducted official exchanges with Taipei.

Similarly, at a press conference today, Pelosi said, “What’s happening in mainland China, the opposition to democracy is a stark contrast.” Look no further for what is happening in Hong Kong. There are no two systems of government in one country. We do not want anything to happen by force in Taiwan.
