Bengaluru: Kharge said, the person who wants to lead the party should be well-known across the country and should get support from Kanyakumari to Kashmir and from West Bengal to Gujarat.
On Friday, Kharge told news agency PTI, “He should be an acceptable figure and the entire Congress party.” So, there is no one else like him in the team.
He requested Rahul Gandhi to come and fight and force all senior leaders to join and work for the party.
On reports that Rahul Gandhi is unwilling to become the party chief, Kharge said, “He will be asked to take responsibility for the party, the country, the fight against the RSS-BJP and the unity of the country.”
Bringing up the party’s ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’, Kharge said that Rahul Gandhi is needed for Jodo Bharat.
We will tell, compel and request him to become Congress President. We will support him. “We will try to explain to him,” Kharge said.
