Ratan Tata pursued his schooling at the prestigious Cathedral and John Connon School in Mumbai, and later attended Bishop Cotton School in Shimla.

Ratan Tata began his career at Tata Steel in 1962, working on the shop floor as a blue-collar worker. His early years in the company helped him understand the grassroots level of the business

In 1991, Ratan Tata succeeded J.R.D. Tata as Chairman of Tata Sons and the Tata Group. Under his leadership, the Tata Group expanded globally and saw tremendous growth.
