New Delhi 01/08: Mother’s milk is like nectar for a baby. Antibodies in it increase the immunity of the baby and protect it from various infections. Not only that, breastfeeding reduces the risk of the baby developing asthma or other serious diseases. Their risk of obesity and diabetes in the future is also greatly reduced. They are more intelligent and mentally strong than other children.
On the other hand, breastfeeding also reduces the mother’s risk of breast cancer, type 2 diabetes and heart disease. World Breastfeeding Week is celebrated every year from August 1st to August 7th to encourage and sensitize mothers to breastfeed. It was first started in 1992.
Since then, this breastfeeding week has been celebrated every year. More than 150 countries of the world celebrated it . Every year this week has a different theme. This year’s theme is ‘Steps Off for Breastfeeding: Educate and Support.’
