Beijing: Today, Chinese President Xi Jinping has been re-elected as the General Secretary of the Communist Party for the third time. He will do this duty for the next 5 years. The 69-year-old Xi is the most powerful leader since party founder Mao Zedong.

He was elected to the powerful Central Committee in the Sabha a day earlier, despite completing 10 years of service and crossing the compulsory retirement age of 68 years.

Besides, the members of the ‘Central Committee’ were also elected to the 25-member ‘Political Bureau’, which selects the members of the ‘Standing Committee’ for the governance of the country.

In his brief remarks at the 20th Council meeting on Saturday, Xi Jinping said, “The amendment of the constitution indicates that there is a need to maintain and strengthen the overall leadership of the party.”

Dare to fight, dare to win, work hard without thinking about unpleasant things. “Be committed to sustaining progress,” he said.
